Vice Admiral Sir Paul Lambert, KCB is a senior Royal Navy officer, currently Deputy Chief of the Deputy Staff for Equipment Capability.
Lambert was made Commanding Officer of the frigate HMS Coventry in 1996.[1] Promoted to Rear-Admiral, he was appointed Commander (Operations) to the Commander-in-Chief, Fleet as well as Rear-Admiral, Submarines in 2004.[2] He went on to be Capability Manager (Precision Attack) and Controller of the Navy in 2007[3] and Deputy Chief of Defence Staff (Equipment Capability) in 2009.[4] In September 2009 he strongly defended the equipment, including helmet and body armour, being issued to military personnel in Afghanistan.[5]
Already a Companion of the Order of the Bath (CB), Lambert was appointed Knight Commander of the Order of the Bath (KCB) in the 2012 New Year Honours.[6][7].
